Transportation inside Brussels

Brussels Transportation:

Brussels has well developed transport infrastructure . You will be able to go anywhere in the city quickly. You have the choice between a well developed network of Bus , tramways, metro and taxi.

There are 3 transport companies for Brussels :

The largest is the STIB-MIVB , which manage the tramway network the metro and a bus network all inside and limited to Brussels city and its 19 municipalities . The STIB is the cheapest way to travel inside Brussels , price ticket is € 1,40 (ticket valid one hour). The STIB goes everywhere in Brussels no doubt, you will find your way with the them. The latest tram , bus or metro is around 1 a.m.

The second is the Wallon bus company called TEC , it’s an inter-urban network of bus. They have a few stop inside Brussels , basically, if you want to go outside of Brussels in one of the many small town and municipalities around in the French part of the Brabant (called the Brabant-Wallon). This is the cheapest way to go but sometime it is more practical to simply take a the train , to avoid to many stop at bus station.

If you wish the travel in the Flemish part of the Brabant region, then the cheapest way is through their bus company called DE LIJN , they have a few stop inside Brussels. Taxi There are more than 1300 taxis in Brussels all interconnected to phone network for effectiveness .

Official price is € 1.14 per kilometer in the 19 municipalities outside it’s € 2.35 per kilometer. To have a taxi either you call them and they bring you the closest taxi or you walk to a taxi-stop there are more than 800 in Brussels.
